Home & Hearth Caregivers has become one of the select agencies in the nation to successfully complete the Home Care Standards Bureau (HCSB) audit with an A+ rating. There are currently more than 20,000 non-medical home care agencies in the U.S.
HCSB grants the A+ rating only to home care agencies that meet stringent standards, including comprehensive background checks and annual caregiver training. To maintain the A+ rating, Home & Hearth Caregivers must also provide the highest standard of non-medical, in-home personal care, including companionship, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, transportation, and specialty care to clients.
Once achieved, A+ rated agencies must submit regular disclosure statements to ensure that all standards are maintained, including insurance and licensing requirements. A+ rated agencies are also subject to planned and surprise audits by HCSB. If an A+ agency is not compliant, the HCSB Regulatory Board has the authority to remove the A+ rating.
The HCSB board of directors includes Dorcas Hardy, former Social Security Commissioner, Ed Pittock, founder and former President of the Society of Certified Senior Advisors, Gail Hunt, President and CEO of the National Alliance for Caregiving, and Scott Larson, Managing Director of the HCSB. The HCSB Regulatory Board is comprised of four A+ rated home care agency owners and Harry R. Moody, former Education Director for AARP, Chairman of the Board for Elderhostel (now Roads Scholar), and author of seven landmark books on aging.
