How Long Does It Take to Get an IME Report Back?
In Illinois, your employer and its insurance carrier have the right to assess your medical treatment for your workers’ compensation claim. One means of evaluating treatment is the Independent Medical Examination, or IME, conducted by a physician of their choice. The IME doctor examines you, often only one time, and produces a report that can seriously impact the value of your claim. How long does it take to get an IME report back?
Each IME Report Has Its Own Schedule

While many insurance companies will send a copy of an IME report to the injured party’s workers’ compensation attorney, they are not legally required to do so unless they are using the IME report as a basis for cutting off benefits.
